Customer Code of Conduct

All participants taking part in a swimming lesson must:

• arrive on time - swimmers may not be admitted to the class if they have missed the warm up.

• have used the toilet before the start of the lesson (and be wearing a swim nappy if appropriate).

• have blown their nose if needed before the start of the lesson.

• have long hair tied up or wear a swimming hat.

• dress appropriately - long shorts are not conducive to effective swimming and hinder progress.

• not wear jewellery - including watches.

• if possible use the shower both before and after the lesson.

• store their clothes in a locker - please do not leave your clothing in a cubicle or on poolside.

• not run on poolside.

• wait until greeted by their teacher and advised they may enter the water.

• not eat chewing gum during the lessons.

• at all times pay attention to the teacher.

Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct

• If your child is under 8 you must remain in the building (and be easily contactable) at all times during the swimming lesson.

• Please be available to take your child to the toilet if required during the session.

• If you need to speak with a teacher about an issue, please first contact reception. Who will take your message and pass it onto the teacher, if it is urgent it will be passed on immediately, otherwise your teacher will contact you after they have finished teaching - please leave a contact telephone number.

• Children may swim after their lesson if a casual swimming session is available - all children under 8 must be accompanied by a paying adult in the water at all times.

• If your child has been or feels ill, suffered sickness or diarrhoea etc. in the past 48 hours please consider that it may be better for your child not to attend their lesson this week.

Child Protection

All Aquaterra Leisure staff have been Enhanced CRB checked and abide by the ASA child protection guidelines.

Aquaterra Leisure swimming instructors are trained under ASA and Sports Coach UK child protection guidelines.
