Swimming

The L shaped main pool is 25m long x 8m wide, 0.9m to 2m deep and with the water kept at 28.5 degrees.

There is excellent disabled assess with a pool hoist, dedicated disabled changing room and toilet.

Sessions

Lane swimming

There are lanes dedicated for people wishing to swim lengths in the early morning and at lunchtimes. These lanes are for adults (or young people and children who are serious swimmers). Training floats are available on request.

Casual swimming

Sessions where part of the pool is available to everyone. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a swimming adult (16+) at all times. The ratio is 1 adult to 2 children aged under 5 years or 1 adult to 3 children aged 5 to 8 years. We strongly recommend all non-swimmers wear buoyancy aids.

Swimming with babies

Aqua Aerobics

Exercise to music in waist deep water. Aqua Aerobics improves the fitness of your heart and lungs, tones the body and burns up calories. All classes are designed for all levels of fitness and non swimmers are welcome. Aqua aerobics timetable.

Swimming lessons

We offer a comprehensive range of group swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. We also provide one-to-one and one-to-two swimming lessons. Intensive courses are available during school holiday time. For information on these services please ask at reception.

Water babies

Casual lesson for guardians and children under five years. The maximum ratio is 1 adult to 2 children. Equipment is available to enhance the children’s introduction to the pool and encourage water confidence.

50+ session

On Tuesdays from 11am – 12noon the pool is exclusively programmed for people over fifty.

Active8

Saturday morning kids club from 12noon till 1pm exclusively for 8 – 12 year olds.

Inflatable session

Saturdays from 4 – 5pm there is an inflatable in the deep end exclusively for the use of 8 – 15 year olds who can swim 25m in a confident manner.

Over 8 fun session

Fridays from 6 – 7pm the whole pool is programmed exclusively for the use of 8 – 15 year olds who can swim 25m in a confident manner. 

Party hire

The pool is available for party hire. See children’s parties for details.

Swimming club

The pool is home to the active Norton Radstock Swimming Club. New members are always welcome. Call 01761 233775.

Disabled swimming club

The Swans have exclusive use of half the pool every Sunday from 10am - 11pm. For more information call 01761 411543.

Scuba Diving

The pool is training base to Norad Sub Aqua Club who met on Thursday evenings from 8.45pm. New members welcome, call 01761 416226.
