Lifeguarding

With an L shaped pool and a diverse swimming programme, the pool at South Wansdyke Sports Centre is an interesting place to study pool lifeguarding. The main pool has a depth of 2m. The sports centre specialises in intensive courses running over four weekends.

Programme

Our 9 day courses run on Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 – 10pm, and Saturdays from 10am – 4pm. Full attendance is essential.

What to bring

Please bring swim wear, plus shorts and a T-shirt (that you will have to swim in). An extra towel is handy to have so you can dry off in between exercises. A pen and paper is required for taking notes.

How to book

Please read the lifeguarding home page for course prerequisites. You can book in person or by telephoning the centre. Payment is required to secure a place. Credit cards are accepted.

Prices

The standard price is £195 or £185 for members, students and 16/17 year olds. This includes all the necessary books, the Royal Life Saving Society registration fee and the assessment fee.
