Sauna & Steam Safety Advice
Safety Advice
For your increased comfort and safety please:
- remove any metal jewelry and watches before using a sauna as they can become very hot
- remove spectacles as they can become very hot
- remove contact lenses as they will ‘dry out’
- take a towel to sit or lie on for your personal hygiene
- drink plenty of fluids to replace those lost from perspiration
- do not take any glass containers into the sauna areas as any breakages are hazardous
- read the instructions on how to use a sauna or steam room safely, these can be found within all our sauna and steam suites.
Health Advice
You should not use a sauna or steam room if you:
- are pregnant
- have had a heavy meal within the last 90 minutes or have consumed alcohol
- have just finished exercising - allow time for your body temperature to return to normal levels
- have heart disease or circulatory problem, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, an illness causing an inability to perspire, an infectious skin disease, sore, wound or any condition which may affect your reaction to heat.
