Testimonials from previous MEND participants

Covell Halladay - age 9

I liked going to MEND because I enjoyed the swimming pool sessions. I really liked Tina, Lucy, Holly and Tom and I made new friends. I enjoyed learning how to eat healthy and I can still enjoy foods that I like, but I know they are healthy for me. I wish I could still come to MEND after it finishes as I am going to miss the exercises we did and the teachers. MEND is a good experience.

Lesley Halladay - Covell's mum

As a MEND parent, I thought this MEND group was really good. It opened my eyes to what foods are bad for you and what foods are good. The mentors who run the group were really helpful. They had all the answers to everything we needed to know and I felt the group has really helped Covell a lot, as he has shown really good progress. He is MEND crazy and understands how to read the food labels. He will only eat MEND-friendly food; anything else and he doesn't want to know. As a whole, it has really helped the family to eat healthily. We are happy Covell took part in the MEND programme!

Molly Clift - age 12

MEND was a very fun way of making us exercise and eating healthy food. I have made lots of friends and learned many things.

Robyn Mills-Kennedy - age 11

I like MEND because we went swimming and it gave me a different lifestyle.

Kairi Weeks-Sanderson - age 8

I like the swimming because it was fun and we got to play fun games.

Beatrice Oledaji - age 8

I liked it when we went to the supermarket to see the labels.
