The Market Road football pitches are known throughout London and are the site of the first artificial surface to be installed in England when it was first laid in the early seventies. The pitches were re-surfaced in 2003 and is a Desso TD40 artificial third-generation surface, aimed at providing the most ideal football surface possible.

There are 2 full-size pitches that are marked for 11-a-side and 5-a-side. There are basic changing and toilet facilities.

The Market Road Pitches are managed by Aquaterra Leisure with the mainentance and staffing supplied by Glendales. The Islington Football Development Partnership provides the programme of courses and coaching.
