Six Islington-based leisure centres and four leisure centres in Bath and North East Somerset have joined the Health Club Awards scheme which recognises the best clubs and leisure centres based on research conducted through members around the country.
The awards, sponsored by Centrum Performance, measure the quality of customer service, facilities and value for money provided by clubs by asking members to rate them.
The Islington based leisure centres – Archway Leisure Centre, Cally Pool, Finsbury Leisure Centre, Islington Tennis Centre, Highbury Pool and Fitness Centre and Sobell Leisure Centre – are managed by Aquaterra Leisure in partnership with Islington Council. The Bath and North East Somerset leisure centres – Bath Sports and Leisure Centre, Culverhay Sports Centre, Keynsham Leisure Centre and South Wansdyke Sports Centre – are managed by Aquaterra Leisure in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council.
Simon Brown who owns and runs the scheme explains: “Belonging to a good health club is a rewarding experience. Members probably spend more time there than they realise and it becomes an integral part of their lifestyle. Providing them with a haven from their frantic day to day existence and at the same time helping them to tackle life in a healthier, more productive way.
For the club it’s not easy to get every aspect just right. It requires a lot of hard work and a belief that members should have a rewarding experience every time they visit the club.
Through the Health Club Awards we will find out which clubs are providing the most rewarding member experience. We will recognise those clubs for their excellence, and ultimately find out which are providing the best experience and membership value across the country.”
Antony Kildare, Chief Executive of Aquaterra Leisure said:
