Swimathon 2010

Be part of the world’s biggest swim! Register online for Swimathon 2010.

The main pool is 30.5m long x 10.75m wide, 1.05m to 3.6m deep and with the water kept at 28 degrees. There is also a shallow pool ideal for swimming lessons, aqua aerobics and parents with small children. This is 15.25m long x 6.5m wide and is kept at 30 degrees.

There is disabled assess with a pool hoist to both pools. There is a dedicated disabled changing room and toilet.

Sessions

Lane swimming

There are lanes dedicated for people wishing to swim lengths throughout most of the hours of opening. Early mornings, lunchtimes and evenings the whole pool is laned off for adults (or young people and children who are serious swimmers). Training floats are available on request. During school hours there is a third of the pool available for lane swimming.

Casual swimming

Sessions where part of the pool is available to everyone. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a swimming adult (16+) at all times. The ratio is 1 adult to 2 children under 8 years. We strongly recommend all non-swimmers wear buoyancy aids.

Swimming with babies

Adult only

We have special sessions where adults who are less confident can practice their swimming in a leisurely environment.

SuperSwim

Supervised session for 8 - 16 year olds that includes water polo, snorkeling, synchro and lifesaving skills.

Aqua Aerobics

Exercise to music in waist deep water. Aqua Aerobics improves the fitness of your heart and lungs, tones the body and burns up calories. All classes are designed for all levels of fitness and non swimmers are welcome.

Evergreens

Swimming sessions in the warm shallow pool exclusively for people who are aged 50 or over. An aerobics session runs on Mondays 12 - 1pm.

Swimming lessons

We offer a comprehensive range of group swimming lessons for all ages and abilities. We also provide one-to-one and one-to-two swimming lessons. Intensive courses are available during school holiday time. For information on these services please ask at reception.

Family Fun

Open to all ages where all children must be accompanied by an adult. Toys and floats are provided.

Party hire

Both pools are available for exclusive party hire at the weekend.

Cally Masters - coached swimming for adults
Cally Masters is a competitive adult swimming group that also welcomes keen swimmers who want to come and just improve their technique and stamina. Training with Cally Masters is the ideal way to get the most out of your swimming. Just turn up to any of the sessions.
