Lifeguarding
With two 1930s swimming pools and a diverse pool programme, Ironmonger Row Baths is an interesting place to study pool lifeguarding. The main pool has a depth of 3.5m allowing deep water rescues to be practiced. Ironmonger Row Baths specialises in intensive courses running over four weekends.
Programme
Our eight day intensive courses run on Friday evenings and all day on Saturdays over four weekends. Friday evening sessions run from 5.30pm till 9.30pm, and Saturday sessions run from 8am till 5.30pm. The last Saturday course runs from 8am till 11.30am. Full attendance is essential.

What to bring
Please bring swim wear, plus shorts and a T-shirt (that you will have to swim in). An extra towel is handy to have so you can dry off in between exercises. A pen and paper is required for taking notes.

Please read the lifeguarding home page for course prerequisites. You can book in person or by telephoning the centre. Payment is required to secure a place. Credit cards are accepted.
Prices
The standard price is £175 or £155 for members, students and 16/17 year olds. This includes all the necessary books and the Royal Life Saving Society registration fee. There is also an exam fee of £20 that is paid direct to the assessor on the day of the assessment.
