Football is considered to be the most popular sport on the planet and England is rightly seen as it’s birthplace. Although there are records of various formats of the game recorded all over the world, the foundation for the modern game was created with the formation of The Football Association, and it’s ‘Laws of the Game’ drafted in 1863.
The games popularity probably lies in it’s simplicity in construction; all you need is something round-ish e.g a ball, orange, newspaper & sellotape and someone or thing to propel it e.g. person, dog, small car. The game can be played by an indefinite number of people, on any open space.
