Aquaterra in partnership with our local NHS primary care trusts and councils, runs exercise referral schemes. Individuals with certain medical conditions, or with conditions that could lead to ill health such as obesity, can be referred by GPs or other health professionals to our leisure centres for a tailored exercise programme.

Clients will learn how to exercise safely and effectively, as well as how to achieve long term lifestyle change that will improve their condition.

Please note that we cannot accept ‘self referrals’ directly to the programmes – everyone must be referred via a registered health professional. All GP surgeries in both Bath & North East Somerset and in Islington are registered with the scheme.

The centres listed on the right hand side all run Passport to Health (Bath & North East Somerset scheme) or Exercise on Referral (Islington scheme) within the gyms. Some exercise classes and water based sessions are also available.

In Islington we also run a Cardiac Rehabilitation Service and a Falls Exercise Service.
