About the centre
The Cally Pool has been serving the area north of Kings Cross since 1895. The original building was known as Caledonian Road Baths and was built by the Vestry of St Mary, which had some of the functions of a current local authority. The Baths had three swimming pools, men's first class, men's second class and ladies. There was also a laundry and extensive slipper baths.
Inadequate changing facilities led to the building being completely replaced by a modern facility that was opened in 1981 as the Cally Pool. There are now excellent swimming facilities with a 25 metre main pool and a very large teaching pool. A sauna and steam suite and a gym were added in the late eighties and have undergone several upgrades and refurbishments since then.
The Cally is home to the successful clubs Anaconda, Cally Masters and Tri London.
