Swimming

The main pool is 25m long x 12.5m wide, 0.9m to 2m deep and with the water kept at 28.5 degrees. There is also a free form Fun Leisure Pool with giant water slide, flume, features and spa pool. Leisure and spa pool water temperatures are around 32c.

There is excellent disabled assess with a pool hoist, ramp and dedicated disabled changing rooms and toilets.

* On Saturdays between 4 - 7pm on 6-8 occasions a year the main pool is booked out for galas.

** Part of the pool is used for staff training on the first Wednesday of every month between 8.30 - 10pm.

† On Saturdays 5 - 6pm and 6 - 7pm party bookings are available.

†† Wednesday Aqua Aerobics session from 10 - 11am is a Passport to Health session and must be booked in advance through Bath and North East Somerset Council.

Sessions

Lane swimming

There are lanes dedicated for people wishing to swim lengths throughout most of the hours of opening. Early mornings and lunchtimes the whole pool is laned off for adults (or young people and children who are serious swimmers). There are two single and two double lane. Training floats are available on request.

Schools

Schools have priority. Occassionaly available for casual or lane swimming.

Casual swimming

Sessions where part of the pool is available to everyone. Swim in any direction you like or just splash about! Slides in operation in the Fun Leisure Pool. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a swimming adult (16+) at all times. The ratio is 1 adult to 2 children aged under 5 years or 1 adult to 3 children aged 5 to 8 years. We strongly recommend all non-swimmers wear buoyancy aids.

Aqua aerobics

Exercise to music in waist deep water. Aqua Aerobics improves the fitness of your heart and lungs, tones the body and burns up calories. All classes are designed for all levels of fitness and non swimmers are welcome.

50+ and disabled session

Sessions for those aged 50 and over or those with a disability who want a gentle swim. The pool is heated to 30 degrees C.

Swimming lessons

We offer group lessons for all ages and abilities. We also provide one-to-one and one-to-two swimming lessons. Intensive courses are available during school holiday time. For information on these services please ask at reception.

Parent and baby

Session with music for guardians and children under five years of age. The maximum ratio is 1 adult to 2 children. Equipment is available to enhance the children's introduction to the pool and encourage water confidence. The water slides do not operate during these sessions. Swimming teacher available for advise. Water is 30 degrees C.

Fun swim

Balls, floats and water polo in the Fun Leisure Pool.

Inflatable Session

For children aged 8-15 who can swim 25 metres.

Swimming clubs

The pool is used by Bath Dolphin Swimming Club, Mencap, and the Aquae Sulis Swimming Squad.

Party hire

The Fun Leisure Pool is available for exclusive party hire. Ask at reception.
