About the centre

Archway Pool was opened in July 1991 by Olympic champion Tessa Sanderson. At the time of opening it had just a leisure pool and activity room but within a year a fitness gym and sauna and steam suite had been added and in 1993 it was renamed Archway Leisure Centre. The following year it won an Accessibility Award for services to disabled people. It also launched one of the first ‘exercise on referral’ schemes in the country which has been going strong ever since.

The gym, with its stunning views over the leisure pool has always been popular and over the years has been expanded twice and now sits over two floors.

Built with a nautical theme, the building features extensive glazing giving it a light and airy ambience throughout.

Archway Leisure Centre is a member of the London Fitness Network.
