Aquaterra introduce monthly Saturday Night Project events for Islington young people

Aquaterra Leisure are pleased to announce that they have taken over the management of The Saturday Night Project and are introducing regular monthly events, with the first taking place on Saturday 25th February 2012.

The Saturday Night Project is a fun evening of activities, sports and coached sessions for the borough's 13 to 19 year olds which takes place at the Sobell Leisure Centre in Hornsey Road.

Damien Swan, Manager at Sobell, commented:

"This successful project was established in response to a lack of activities available in the borough for young people at weekends and in particular Saturday evenings and we're excited to be creating those opportunities in partnership with funders Islington Giving. 350 teenagers attended the last event in December and we're really looking forward to this weekend's event."

Young people can challenge their mates at five-a-side football tournaments, basketball, badminton, squash, netball, table tennis, or in the Game Zone, and show off their skills at trampolining, ice skating, sliding, dance, Zumba®, gym and roller skating. Additionally there is music, DJs, competitions, prizes and a local marketplace where young people can find out about other youth services in the borough.

The Saturday Night Project takes place on the last Saturday night of every month. The entrance fee is £3 and attendees also receive free membership to Aquaterra Leisure centres for a whole year plus promotional vouchers for Sobell Leisure Centre. Young people can register online, on the night, or beforehand by filling in a registration form at Sobell Leisure Centre.
