Climbing is currently Britain's fastest growing sport. The combination of exercise, skill and challenge makes it a rewarding and enjoyable activity.
We have a number of climbing walls at Sobell Leisure Centre.
Climbing Walls
Leading Wall
8 metre high top roping or leading wall built by Bendcrete. There are a number of features including an overhang, jamming cracks, aretes and a chimney.
Competition Wall
Standing 13 metres this is one of the highest walls in the country. It was built by and belongs to Bendcrete. The routes on this wall are up to F8b and changed regularly.
Bouldering Wall
5 metre bouldering wall over hanging with a large number of routes from 4a upwards which can be bouldered or led.
The Climbing Corridor
A traverse wall of brick and embedded rocks, 15 metres long and 3 metres high. Suitable for technique and stamina training with a low level and a high level traverse.

* During school hours the education programme have priority use on the leading wall and bouldering wall. On Mondays from 4pm, courses have priority usage. On Thursdays from 4-7pm parties have priority usage. The competition wall is only available after 7pm Monday to Sunday.
